How to Set Up Keyword Tracking in Risify

Setting up Keyword Tracking takes only a few steps. Everything happens inside your Shopify admin panel.

Step 1: Open Risify and Go to Keyword Tracking

In your Shopify admin, go to Apps and open Risify. From the left-hand menu, click Keyword Tracking.

If this is your first time using this feature, you will see a screen that says “Start tracking your domain rankings” with an Add Project button.

Step 2: Create Your First Project

Click Add Project. A popup will appear asking for the following details:

  1. Project Name: Choose a simple, descriptive name that helps you identify what this project tracks. Example: “Main Store US” or “Brand UK Mobile.”
  2. Domain: Enter the domain you want to track. Example: myshop.com or www.myshop.com.
  3. Country and Language: Select the target market where you want Risify to check your rankings.
  4. Device Type: Choose Desktop or Mobile. This sets the default device Risify uses for ranking checks.

At the bottom of the popup, you will see an example showing how these settings come together. When everything looks correct, click Create Project.

Step 3: Add Keywords to Track

After creating the project, you will return to the main dashboard. Since no keywords have been added yet, all metrics will show zero.

Click the Add Keywords button on the right. In the popup that appears:

  1. Enter your keywords by typing or pasting them, one keyword per line. You can add multiple keywords at once.
  2. Add tags (optional) to organize your keywords under meaningful labels. For example, you might tag a group of keywords as “puzzle accessories” or “organization products.” Tags make filtering easier when your keyword list grows.
  3. Click Save. Risify will begin tracking your keyword positions using the settings from your project.

Step 4: Wait for Data to Load

After saving your keywords, Risify needs a short moment to check rankings. You do not need to wait long. As soon as the first check completes, your dashboard begins filling with data.

Step 5: Manage Your Tracked Keywords

Once rankings load, scroll down to view your keyword list. For each keyword, you will see its name, current ranking position, position change, status, tags, and the URL that ranks for it.

On the right side of each keyword row, click the three-dot menu to:

  • Add a tag to that keyword.
  • Stop tracking the keyword.
  • Delete the keyword entirely.

This makes it easy to organize, clean up, or update your keyword list at any time.

Understanding Your Keyword Performance Metrics

When your rankings are ready, Risify shows key metrics at the top of the Keyword Tracking page. These numbers give you a clear snapshot of your store’s visibility.

Keywords Tracked

This shows the total number of keywords you are monitoring. A higher number gives you a broader view of your visibility, but relevance matters more than volume.

How to use it: If your list is small, consider adding more product, category, and long-tail keywords. If the list is large but performance is weak, focus on refining your existing keywords instead of adding more.

Average Position

This is the average search ranking across all tracked keywords. A lower number means better overall visibility.

How to use it: A decreasing average position means your SEO is improving. If the average rises, review which keywords lost rankings and check those pages. If many keywords sit just outside page one, this metric helps you spot those opportunities quickly.

Keywords in Top 10

This tells you how many of your keywords appear on the first page of Google. Since most clicks happen on page one, this is one of the strongest signals of SEO progress.
